Macmillan Cancer Support

After a fantastic first year working together, Tour de Broads cycling sportive has announced that Macmillan Cancer Support will be the Official charity partner for a second year in 2016.

Emily Ford, Challenge Events Manager at Macmillan said "We are absolutely delighted to be involved with Tour de Broads for another year. We hope that many cyclists will want to support Macmillan and make a difference to thousands of people across Norfolk. In 2015 we had over 120 people ride for Macmillan and we've raised £15,000 from the event."

5,377 people in Norfolk are diagnosed with cancer every year and we predict that by 2030, the number of people living with or beyond cancer in Norfolk will fill Norwich City's Carrow Road stadium two and half times. We need everyone to get on board and help us make sure no one faces cancer alone.

And it's not only patients who live with cancer; we also help carers, families and communities. We fund nurses and other specialist healthcare professionals and build cancer care centres. But we give so much more than medical help. And we couldn't do this without your support.

One of our participants from last year, David Greer, said he would encourage anyone interested to take part. "Just do it. Everyone is touched by cancer in one way or another. The care that Macmillan nurses give is world class and priceless. [The] Macmillan team were great on the day and very warm, friendly and supportive. Can't think of anything you could have done better, it was all good." Team Macmillan will be there to support you from the moment you sign up to the event itself. We'll provide you with loads of fantastic tips to help with fundraising and training, and on the big day will be there cheering you on and making sure you have the best experience possible. So make sure you don't miss out on this opportunity and sign up today!
